Membership Advantages

·Borrowing privilages to the toy lending library

·Affiliate membership with the Canadian Child Care Association

·Voting privilege at the Annual General Meeting (Held in May or June each year)

Membership is valid from AGM to AGM. Memberships may be puchased anytime during the year, but it will only be valid until the following AGM. (Example: A membership purchased in 2005 will be valid until the Annual General Meeting in 2006.)

Toy Lending Library Terms and Conditions

· Library items circulate for two weeks.

· You will get a copy of our catalogue at the time of registration so you know what is available.

· We have a waiting list that patrons can use if the item they want is on loan to another patron. You will be phoned to come and get the item you requested as soon as it is returned.

· Overdue items will have a fine of $1.00 a day for each workday up to five days.

· Patrons will be phoned about overdues.

· Two items may be borrowed at a time.

· The Toy Lending Library is not responsible for cleaning and disinfecting items. Please ensure that you do.

· Please return all the items in your kit. Check the list inside before returning items to be sure that all the pieces are in the case. Items do not circulate if pieces are missing. If you return an item with missing pieces you will be phoned to give you a chance to look for the pieces. If the pieces are lost you will be billed to replace the item.Once you pay for an item it is yours to keep.

· Invariably there are some items that are more popular than others. We have duplicate copies of some of these items but for the convenience of our patrons who put their names on the waiting list some popular items only circulate for one week at a time. This is clearly marked on the item. Please note this so you will not keep it too long and inadvertently acquire overdues.

· The cost of replacing toys is so high that we require at the time of registration a good will deposit in the form of a cheque for $20.00. When an item becomes overdue the patron will be phoned and reminded that fines have started accumulating. If the reminder is ignored fines will go up to a total of $5.00 and borrowing priveleges will be discontinued. When an item goes missing for more than four weeks the patron will be called once more and notified that a bill for replacement as well as the fine has been generated by the computer. If payment is not forthcoming the goodwill deposit will be cashed, and if the cost is more than what we recover we have have to send the bill to a collection agency. Most of our toys cost more than the $15.00 that we recover by this method, we would rather not use the services of a collection agency, so we are counting on your honor and integrity to return borrowed items or pay for them if they go missing.
